It’s been a few days now since the Summer Walk challenge started. I actually started early, because I have a specific number of milage goal that requires more than a single mile each day. I’m doing AWESOME if I do say so myself
I had been using RunKeeper to log my walks. But since it updated a week or two ago, it’s been useless. It only logs my time spent, not my distance. Like it will show distance when I’m using it, but as soon as I save the workout, it doesn’t save the distance. Such a bummer that I don’t have the EXACT milage, but I like DailyMile (are we friends there?!) and even though it rounds on the dashboard display, I’m OK with that.
So here is where I stand currently with my walking challenge:
20 miles in
I’m pretty pleased with that. Those only show my walking distance, as I haven’t even attempted a jog or anything lately. I don’t have the passion to run, so I’m not sure it’s worth the hate of trying. I enjoy walking, why not just embrace that? Do I have to be a runner? No. Will I still occasionally do a 5K that interests me? yes, probably very much so. Will I still occasionally do a little jog? Yes. I found the perfect 1/3 mile loop right in my neighborhood, I will probably use that to build up a little jogging and mix it up. But I’m not sure it will ever progress much beyond that. At least not until I get excited about it!
What do you do to make sure you get intentional exercise every day?
