I kept hearing awesome things about Diet-To-Go so I decided to sign up to be an ambassador and check them out. Who doesn’t want to have quick lunches to go? Sure, I could do what I’ve been doing and spend Sunday’s prepping my lunches, but sometimes life happens, we get busy and I just want to grab something and go. If you don’t ever experience that, then good for you. But I do, all the time. Sometimes my lunch doesn’t sound good. Sometimes I forget it. Sometimes I just need something different. Having a meal that’s portioned and ready to go? Yes please!
When I signed up, I picked the low-carb plan. This was a little daring for me, because I’m a very picky eater. I picked LC because I tend to supplement with a lot of fruit (which have plenty of carbs) so the bulk of my meal, I try and keep lower carb. This also helps keep me out of the mentality that I need a starch with every meal However, the meal plan that some of my other fellow bloggers are following (the 1200 traditional) has foods that are very tempting and I might switch.
So on with the food – the food was really good. Seriously. No joke. I got 5 breakfasts, lunches and dinners to try. TOTAL honest disclosure: I have not yet made it through all the meals. I know ideally I would eat them all at once, but I still have a lot of groceries left in the house, and hate to let anything go to waste. So I am working my way through the meals.
The package comes secure and well packaged. Each meal comes well sealed. The packaging was simple and easy and the box comes with a nice list of everything.
I’m not a breakfast person. It’s just not my thing. I tried 4 out of the five sent to me. I couldn’t get down with trying a pork chop for breakfast. It’s just too much chewing work for the AM. As far being a frozen meal, it wasn’t an issue. The eggs heated up great, the veggies weren’t soggy – all in all, they were good. I won’t continue with breakfast, because really, it’s like an effort for me to eat that much. I really prefer a yogurt and some fruit. When I wake up, I have a snack.
Once I’m awake, I could appreciate the food more come lunch time. Lunch time is a struggle for me because I eat so early, and don’t eat dinner again until whenever husband gets home. So I try to find something that is substantial and will old me over. These meals did that. I had about 6 of the 10 lunch/dinner meals for lunch. Because dinner is more planned with the husband, I took the dinners that were selected for lunches as well. It’s all the same in my book
Three of my favorite meals:

Chicken Marsala with veggies. This was my FAVORITE. The veggies were crisp and delicious, and the chicken was so tender and the sauce was just enough.

Veal parm and veggies. The picture looks awful, I know. I don’t take plates with me to work – I eat out of containers, it is what it is. The veal was a little more chewy than I thought it should be, but the flavor and sauce and veggies were great!
So out of the 10 meals I had (three I haven’t yet) – I have three favorites, that I will most certainly want to have again. A few of them, like one with goat cheese, I won’t personally eat, husband will and he will offer me some opinion to share. I also will not eat a cauliflower puree – so that will have to be sampled by him as well. What? I said I’m a picky eater!
All in all – I’m super pleased with the service, and I will be ordering again. I probably won’t do the low carb, I want to try the foods I keep seeing others post from the regular plan. I also won’t do the breakfast plan, because it seems silly when I so rarely ever want to eat a real breakfast. And really, how long does an egg really take to make? I’m not that lazy (usually…)
The only issue I had, is that there is no nutritional information on the packaging. I’m not sure if once I order officially from the website, I can find the nutritional information for the meals or not. Trying to gauge WWPP values was a little tricky. Not impossible, just tricky.
Even though I didn’t follow the DTG plan 100% I did still lose 1.8lbs at my WI last week, so that makes me happy
If you’re interested, or a limited time only, Diet-to-Go is offering readers a 25% discount on their first week of meals. Simply plug in the coupon code “summer25” at check-out for 25% off your first order!

Disclosure: I was given 15 meals to try for free. I was asked to share my opinion with no other compensation. The opinions are always 100% my own.
