I usually don’t get involved in a lot of events in the Cleveland area, mainly because I can’t make it there on time after work.  However, when Rachel invited me to the Vitamix meet up, I knew I had to go. I have been dreaming about buying a Vitamix for a really long time, and this was the perfect opportunity to check out what it can really do and see if we can swing the investment.

I was a little intimidated at first, I was looking at the guest list and here are a lot of bloggers I “know” from twitter, but of course haven’t met, so I knew I’d be nervous. Nervous me turns into a wallflower.  Rachel and Julie were the only two I really “knew”.  That helped. I also saw people like Alicia and Julie C, who both are involved in OBA and seem pretty nonjudgmental, so I knew I could count on a smiling face from them!

So I clicked accept and am so glad that I did! :)

I got to meet even more great ladies, even if only for a minute, and it was nice to get out and be social a bit.  Sometimes going out of my comfort zone is necessary! Not to mention, now I need a vitamix in my life, and we won an apron and a smoothie cup! ;) Now I have to buy the vitamix to go with it!

They made hummus, soup, smoothies, fresh ground flour.  I mean, I’m not sure there’s anything this machine CANT do! These machines have an amazing warranty. 7 years with a new machine I believe, and then 5 years with a refurbished, with the option to buy an extension of 3 more years. What kind of company does that? Most give you one year (at best) for manufacturer defect only .  They want you to USE the machine, beat it up and if, a long the way something happens, get it repaired.  A woman last night mentioned how she brought it in for repair, waited a mere 20 minutes and was on her way out.  That’s pretty awesome customer service.

Here’s a few pictures of the night. I’m sure others will share better pictures or more information that I’m not remembering right now to post.

Making the delicious strawberry & lime sorbet!

Strawberry and lime sorbet. So creamy and delicious!

Delicious green monster smoothie!

One of the prizes we won.. Now we must buy a vitamix to use it ;)

Some great twitter folks I got to meet or see again:

I hope I didn’t miss anyone! it was a lot to take in :)

Take a second to check them out, if you haven’t already, so you can make sure you attend the next one!

Another acupuncturist…

April 13, 2012

{Source} I feel like I’m going through acupuncturists like they’re cheap flipflops.  In reality, I’m really just trying to find a good fit.  The first one, if you remember, I really liked him.  However, I didn’t feel like he was on the same page as I was, and I didn’t want to piddle around wasting [...]
