I was sitting at home reflecting on our awful last two weeks and it dawned on me, disgustingly, that we didn’t make dinner ONE time. Not ONE stinking time last pay period. That is gross. Seriously. We even wasted meat because we defrosted it, changed our minds and didn’t eat it before it went back.
So I was talking to B and we decided we were going to cook the meals for the week and then we’d have zero excuses. We were out of town this Sunday, so we went to the grocery story Sunday night, and are making everything Monday. Then it will just be a matter of getting it out as a left over and re-heating it and/or assembling. Although, something like the steaks, we will simply marinade ahead of time, and B will grill that up quickly.
Getting on track food wise starts with good planning.
Here’s the menu plan:
Monday: Crock Pot Honey Sesame Chicken *Note, we had this yesterday. It was delicious. I would personally use a little less soy sauce, but husband liked it with the amount we used, so next time I might lay off it a tiny bit.
Tuesday: Baked Tacos
Wednesday: Steak and potatos
Thursday: Beer Haus (Yes, a restaurant, but we have an expiring groupon!)
Friday: Crock Pot Santa Fe Chicken
Can you tell I was all over Chef in Training? I found her recipes on pinterest and was sold. I think this might be a bit of an ambitious task considering I don’t typically cook, but hoping for the best! I will report back how the cooking and recipe selections go!
