This has been quite the weekend. I need a day off to relax from it.
Friday night was my birthday party. My original plan was to invite my friends over and have a psychic at the house ready to give readings. Well after some research, the few that I liked, weren’t willing to drive to Akron, even if I offered pay for travel. So that idea went to the wayside. So then we decided just to have people come over. It’s much easier with a crowd to keep it more comfortable and talk to everyone at a house. Not to mention people aren’t stuck going somewhere they might not like, or suffering through bad service.
I got busy all week prepping. I ordered pizza and chicken from Capri in Highland Square. I didn’t order a lot, but knew some people were coming right after work, so wanted something for them. I made the pumpkin fluff again, and my signature drink that I tested out earlier in the week. I also made cheesy bread, which was delicious. It was really a huge hit. I left out the mushrooms because I know a lot of people don’t like them.
Along with a cake, I had a s’more bar set up out back by the fire. Here’s a glimpse of the menu.
I totally sucked at taking pictures, I was so busy enjoying the people it slipped my mind.
Saturday we got up early to go cheer on the Akron Marathon runners. I was slowly waking up as the few top runners were coming through, and then suddenly I see Ryan (Logo’s fiance) cruise through. As the day went on, I was able to see a lot of other runners I recognized, but unfortunately we didn’t stay for the last wave to come through. I was fighting a sinus headache all day, so we went home when the 4hr (or so) pace group came through.
Sunday will be another filled day. I work in the morning for a few hours, am picking up a yoga nidra workshop with a friend of mine, and then having another friend come by tomorrow\ night. Friday officially kicked off my celebratory birthday week. And yea yeah, I know – if MLK gets one day, what makes me worthy of a week or month? Well damnit it’s my birthday, so I’ll celebrate as long as I want to.
What did you do this weekend?

I'm a 30-something yoga-lovin', tea-drinkin' high school teacher struggling to find my place in this crazy world. My blog focuses on my journey to lose weight, get healthy, and our attempts to become a family of three. I spend a lot of time exploring and embracing Akron, often photo-documenting my trips. Everything else is just the glitter in my life that adds to who I am.
