This weekend, like all the others, go too quickly.
Friday night was our big game against our local rival in high school football. We met up with coworkers at Euro Gyro in Akron, just off campus. For a campus location, they are SO SLOW. Holy cow was I annoyed and there was no one there other than us at the time, so I don’t get it… Then, as the rain started, so did the game. Hubs and I were there, decked out in green, freezing our butts off. We were clearly going to win (I know, jinxing us, right?) so after the halftime show, and the third quarter started, we headed home. I didn’t want to sit in the rain any longer.
Saturday we went to see my parents, and then headed over to B’s Aunt’s house for a wedding party. His cousin had gotten married over the summer in a small wedding on a boat on Lake Erie. They were having a little open house for everyone to meet and say hello. It was nice for the most part. The only frustrating part was the situation we have with his one brother. Him and his wife do not speak to us at all. I don’t know when or why this started happening. I can’t remember a time in my relationship with B (and mind you, it’s 12+ years) that we were ever good enough to be acknowledged by them. Whatever, it’s a sad situation, but always makes for awkward family situations.
Sunday we decided to stick around home, I’m still preparing for my birthday party, so while we were out, we decided to hit up the local market here, and take a trip through the corn maze. It was fun. We haven’t had time to just go and do something like that in a while.
How did you spend your weekend?

I'm a 30-something yoga-lovin', tea-drinkin' high school teacher struggling to find my place in this crazy world. My blog focuses on my journey to lose weight, get healthy, and our attempts to become a family of three. I spend a lot of time exploring and embracing Akron, often photo-documenting my trips. Everything else is just the glitter in my life that adds to who I am.
