I spent Saturday in a wheelchair transporter chair with my husband and parents all over IKEA. IKEA is one of my favorite stores. It’s a store I don’t like to frequent because if I did, I’d be broke. I went basically with the intention of only buying things for the classroom.. There’s not a lot we need at home. Our house is furnished and we barely use half of what we have. Sad, I know, but it is what it is.
So while B wheeled me around the store, I got busy shopping.
I picked up 4 of the DIGNITET Curtain wire sets, so that I could use those to hang posters and signs in my classroom. I have cinderblock walls, and they’ve been painted with oil paint so many times, nothing ever sticks to them. I’m tired of my expensive posters falling down and my room looking pathetic all the time.
I bought myself a VILGOT Swivel chair for work. The chair I have now kills my lower back. I’m hoping this chair will help with that. If it doesn’t work, then I’ll just bring it home and enjoy it here
I have this great idea of hanging up tech/business magazines in my classroom, so I picked up the BYGEL Rail and some hooks. I’m going to hang the magazines off of this rail. I was originally going to use the DIGNITET wire, but the weight of the magazines would make it hang a bit too much I think.
I found two SPONTAN Magnetic boards that I love. I love the idea of having something magnetic (I really don’t have any options in my room)! and I’m going to cover it in a thin fabric that’s computer related and that way it will decorate them up a bit!
One of my favorite, and unplanned things was the MICKE Drawer unit/drop file storage in white & green. I am going to use the bottom to keep copies of handouts in case a student was absent, the upper drawers will have looseleaf in them, scrap paper and other important hand outs that might not have been as recent.
Of course I couldn’t leave without some MÅLA Drawing paper rolls, perfect for crafts (yes, even high school kids like crafting!), some fabric that was on clearance, pens, paper, hanging folders, TOLSBY picture frames (so cute!) and everything else I didn’t need but had to have
I will be posting pictures once I get my classroom situated since I’ve been talking about all the fun changes I have in place!
Do you love IKEA as much as I do?!

I'm a 30-something yoga-lovin', tea-drinkin' high school teacher struggling to find my place in this crazy world. My blog focuses on my journey to lose weight, get healthy, and our attempts to become a family of three. I spend a lot of time exploring and embracing Akron, often photo-documenting my trips. Everything else is just the glitter in my life that adds to who I am.
