Hello Not So Suddenly Susan readers! Alicia from Poise in Parma here, happily keeping an eye on the blog while she’s away. Don’t worry: it’s in good hands!
If you find yourself over at my blog, you learn I’m currently in the process of becoming a yoga teacher. My training spans over the course of nine months – leaving me plenty of time not only fully develop as a teacher but to think a lot about the classes I will eventually teach.
When I’m not on my mat, I work as an event planner. Every event takes me to a new location so I get a lot of ideas of where I would like to throw a party.
Every once in awhile, these two sides of me combine and I get to embrace planning a yoga party. Yes it’s as fun as it sounds! But this got me thinking: there are chefs, restaurateurs and foodies all over creating pop-ups in the culinary world. Why can’t there be a yoga pop-up in my hometown as well?
So humor me as I present…
My #CLEyoga Bucket List Locations to Teach Yoga in Cleveland
Cleveland City Hall

People have wedding receptions in this space all the time – why not a yoga class?! Sure, the marble might be hard, but it’s nothing a yoga mat won’t fix!
Along Lake Erie – with an amazing view of Downtown Cleveland
Best location already primed to take advantage of: Pier W:

Here I am with two of my favorite yogis: we’re a bit overdressed for down dog!
Palace Theatre (or any of the theatres at PlayhouseSquare)

As a theatre major, any time I get to visit our local historical gem known as PlayhouseSquare, I can’t help but smile. To be able to combine two of my loves in life would be all sorts of awesome.
Progressive Field, The Q and/or Browns Stadium
I’ve already finished a 5K on the football field:

…why not get those linebackers, outfielders and point guards to stretch out their hamstrings before their big games!
On the runway at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
…but until then, I guess inside an engine of a 737 will have to do:

Then again – as an event planner – I’ve gotten pretty good at back bending. You never know what’s going to happen, so you gotta be flexible!
So many places with plenty of yoga for each of them! Wish me luck as I’ll be a fully certified yoga teacher this November. Maybe this bucket list will be come a reality before you know it!
What location is on your yoga bucket list?
I'm a 30-something yoga-lovin', tea-drinkin' high school teacher struggling to find my place in this crazy world. My blog focuses on my journey to lose weight, get healthy, and our attempts to become a family of three. I spend a lot of time exploring and embracing Akron, often photo-documenting my trips. Everything else is just the glitter in my life that adds to who I am.
